Dear friend,

Love will always find a way. If you want love, you’ve gotta give love away.

That’s from MC Yogi’s The Giving Song, written and produced for Yoga Friends, a community of yoga teachers and practitioners who believe that love, generosity, and friendship can change the world. Listen to the song and watch the video at the Yoga Friends website—it will bring tears to your eyes and a smile to your heart!

In this season of loving and giving, I’d like to acknowledge all that you, our members, give to the world through the guidance, caring, and generosity of spirit you offer your students, year in and year out. I’d also like to honor those of you who have given your time and energy to bring the gift of yoga to underserved populations, through the Teaching for Diversity program and Rachel Greene Memorial Fund. From inner-city classrooms to shelters for the homeless, our teachers gave back to their communities in remarkable ways. I urge you to consider making a donation to the Teaching for Diversity program, perhaps in the name of someone on your gift list.

Have a peaceful holiday season and a joyous New Year!

Vandita Kate Marchesiello
Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association, Director

Check out the updates we’ve made to the KYTA Community Forum—now known as the Kripalu Professional Associations Community Forum to encompass both KYTA and School of Ayurveda alumni.

The Forum is now even easier to use, with fewer categories and a more accessible interface. When you subscribe to a category, you’ll receive an e-mail each time someone contributes to the conversation. Simply click on that e-mail to read any responses and stay in the loop!

The Forum now has more than 600 members—that’s a wealth of information, just a mouse click away! Discussion categories include Ayurvedic philosophy, diet, and lifestyle; yoga teaching, practice, and history; the business of yoga; rideshares; and more.

Catch the wave: Join the Kripalu Professional Associations Community Forum by clicking on the Register button and entering your information. Don’t forget, it’s free! We’ll see you there!

Give something different and inspiring this year. The online Kripalu Shop offers books, CDs, gift certificates, and much more. You can click on “Family Yoga Favorites,” “New Items,” or other categories to customize your search.

At this busy time of the year, when you find yourself making to-do lists and checking them twice, take a quiet moment to reflect on your life, your teaching, and your relationships through the lens of Swami Kripalu’s wisdom. The winter issue of the KYTA Yoga Bulletin includes inspiration for yoga teachers from Swami Kripalu, as well as personal remembrances from those who knew him.

Read “Swami Kripalu’s Inspiration for Yoga Teachers” in the winter Yoga Bulletin.
