KOL Tell us about a turning point in your life.
Deborah My life turned around radically in my mid-twenties, when my doctor said, "You have cancer." Not wanting invasive surgery, I plunged into trying to heal myself in other ways, starting with AA, where I kicked alcohol and pills at once and for good. After going into remission from the cancer at the hands of a healer, I turned from the fast-lane life of a corporate attorney to studying and mastering the mysterious world of healers, sages, and shamans.
KOL What do you love about teaching?
Deborah Teaching the students in my 21st-Century Energy Medicine Program and those who attend my workshops around the world is a true joy. I love helping people become more conscious and develop to their full potential. The world is so in need of healing, and fostering my students' ability to heal themselves and others feels like my deepest contribution to humanity.
KOL What are you passionate about right now?
Deborah I am passionate about helping others to heal on every level-emotional, physical, and spiritual. Nothing thrills me in quite the same way as helping to relieve suffering and dispel ignorance, which I try to do through my books, teaching, radio show, and broadcast, and online media.
KOL What do you do in your downtime?
Deborah Downtime? What's that? My work is my life, which I share with my husband. We travel everywhere together. When we are at home, I spend as much time as possible with my pets, especially my horses. I also love to ski in the mountains around Lake Tahoe and to swim whenever I can. By far the most important thing I do for myself is to meditate every single day, which I do for long stretches of time in the very early hours of the morning.
