Daniel Paul

Daniel Paul is a tabla drummer with a degree in Indian classical music from the Ali Akbar College of Music where he studied under India’s great masters including Ali Akbar Khan, Zakir Hussain, Jnan Ghosh, and Swapan Chaudhuri. In 1987 Daniel received a Fulbright research award to survey styles of tabla drumming in India. He tours regularly with a wide variety of musicians, including the techno phenomenon, Lost At Last. He is Jai Uttal’s principal accompanist and plays on several of Jai’s CDs as well as his own Rhythms of Paradise and Between Two Worlds. www.tabladaniel.com
