René Laubach

René Laubach, director of Massachusetts Audubon’s Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries since 1985, had his interest in birds kindled at camp and abetted while pursuing a degree in wildlife biology. He serves as compiler for the Southern Berkshire Christmas Bird Count and Berkshire coordinator of Massachusetts Audubon’s Breeding Bird Atlas Project. René is also the author or coauthor of six books, including A Guide to Natural Places in the Berkshire Hills and Raptor! A Kid’s Guide to Birds of Prey with his wife, Christyna M. Laubach, and Charles W. G. Smith.
