Judy Lief

Judy Lief has taught internationally on death and dying and on the power of mindfulness and loving-kindness training in dealing with serious illness. As one of the foremost students of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, she is a well-known teacher in the Buddhist and Shambhala traditions. Currently, Judy is chair of the Vermont-based Madison-Deane Initiative, dedicated to improving end-of-life care, and is on the faculty of the Fletcher-Allen Hospital Continuing Pastoral Education program. She is the author of Making Friends with Death and cofounded and serves on the faculty of Courageous Women, Fearless Living, an annual retreat for women with cancer.
