Marilyn M. Sylla

Marilyn M. Sylla is a dance educator, choreographer, and performing artist. A Five College Dance Lecturer based at Smith College in Massachusetts, she also teaches at Mt. Holyoke and Amherst Colleges and the University of Massachusetts. Marilyn directs the Bamidele Dancers & Drummers, a troupe dedicated to the preservation of African and African-rooted cultures through dance, music, and song. Her work has taken her to Guinea and Senegal, West Africa, Brazil, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and numerous venues throughout the United States.
