Sekou Sylla

Sekou Sylla is a musician, dance educator, choreographer, and artistic director of the Bamidele Dancers & Drummers, a troupe dedicated to the preservation of African and African-rooted cultures through dance, music, and song. He teaches African drumming for dancers at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and also teaches at Smith and Amherst Colleges and the University of Massachusetts. Sekou is a former principal dancer, acrobat, and musician with Les Ballets Africains of Guinea, West Africa. He has taught and performed in South America, Europe, Canada, Africa, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and numerous venues throughout the United States.
