Program Details

Learn the theory and practical skills of Ayurvedic body treatments used in rejuvenation therapy. These ancient techniques have been used for cleansing and healing body, mind, and spirit for thousands of years.

In this workshop, receive training in three modalities

  • Marma balancing: a full-body treatment focused on vital energy points and pathways to create a balancing and rejuvenating effect
  • Swedna: steam therapy
  • Udvartina: herbal paste massage.

Under the guidance of Hilary Garivaltis, Dean of Kripalu’s School of Ayurveda, you learn the hands-on techniques of Ayurvedic bodywork and have ample time to practice and be observed. Ceremony and the use of mantra or sacred sound is incorporated to establish a calm and healing environment.

This program is ideal for trained bodyworkers looking to add Ayurvedic treatments to their services. Beginners with a personal interest in these techniques are also welcome and should contact Hilary at hilary@kripalu.org before registering.

Note Oils will be used throughout the training, so casual clothing is recommended. Old bathing suits or undergarments may be useful during practice sessions.
