For serious practitioners, yoga teachers, and yoga therapists.

This comprehensive training focuses on the yogic arts of mudra, pranayama, and bandha, three facets of an integrated approach to hatha yoga. These modalities cultivate healing in the physical body and equanimity in the mind to serve as a vehicle for spiritual awakening.

In this weeklong program, you will

  • Understand prana, the life force, as a vehicle for cultivating dynamic health and balance
  • Learn how mudras work on the physical, subtle, psychological, and spiritual levels
  • Explore the 108 hand mudras described in Joseph and Lilian Le Page’s new book, Mudras for Healing and Transformation
  • Practice 32 breathing techniques and learn benefits, contraindications, and specific mudras to support each pranayama practice
  • Discover the appropriate use of bandhas in the context of asana, pranayama, and meditation practice
  • Learn the application of mudra, pranayama, and bandha in specialty asana classes for awakening the subtle body, including Chakra Yoga, PranaVayu Yoga, and Five Element Yoga.

Required reading Joseph and Lilian Le Page, Mudras for Healing and Transformation (coming Spring 2012).

Note Certified yoga teachers and yoga therapists who complete this training are authorized to present mudra and pranayama workshops based on the Le Page’s system. For more information, see the description of this program at www.iytyogatherapy.com.
