Full Bio & Programs

Explore the ancient art of belly dance, restoring your fragmented self, reveling in your sensual body, and refreshing your soul. Spiritual Bellydance combines breath awareness with naturally resonant movement forms from mystical Sufi dance to connect your body’s inner and outer space and ignite your intuition.
To invite a meditative state, Dunya Dianne McPherson begins each day with breathing and slow movement to a rich tapestry of music. She introduces her techniques that increase awareness of embodied presence and cultivate the ability to observe without judgment. These techniques include
- Rocking Array
- Spinal Spiral and Wave
- Pelvic Root Motion
- Iconic Veil.
Movement is interspersed with periods of rest to allow integration, time for reflective writing, and dialogue. You take home a manual and a terrific support for teachers and practitioners who wish to incorporate these techniques into their work.
If you’re looking for a deeper experience of belly dance or a meaningful, mystical movement connection, or you simply need joy and revitalization, come journey with Dunya.
