For healing professionals, those interested in becoming healing professionals, and anyone interested in personal and spiritual growth.
SomaSoul Somatic Expressive Therapy is a mind-body healing modality that integrates the power of Body-Centered Gestalt Psychotherapy with the heart of spiritual practice and the freedom of the expressive arts.
Dan Leven offers four SomaSoul workshops throughout the year that can be taken individually for personal development, or collectively as part of his SomaSoul: Somatic Expressive Therapy Level 1 training. This workshop, the Expressive Body and the Contemplative Mind, strengthens the bridge between the observing mind and feeling body. You learn to become aware of your body-centered emotions, experience them with compassionate connection, and heal and transform whatever the body is holding that feels difficult or painful.
This workshop teaches you to
- Steady your mind through body-based meditations
- Discover your body’s truth through your heart’s wisdom and your gut’s instinct
- Feel more alive through expressive movement emerging from the emotional brain
- Know and heal your psyche through SomaSoul’s expressive arts processes that focus on physical sensations.
Note The Leven Institute for Expressive Movement is an approved training program by ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association). Upcoming SomaSoul trainings include Moving Your Body’s Story, December 1–6, 2013; The Somatic Healing Process, February 23–28, 2014; and SomaSoul Facilitation: The Art of Being, April 20–25, 2014. Those interested in becoming a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through the Leven Institute need to complete Levels 1 and 2 in both SomaSoul and Shake Your Soul®.
