CE/CME Credits

Processes and Frequently Asked Questions

Follow these two easy steps if you are looking for continuing education credits (CECs) for social workers, certified counselors, massage therapists, registered dietitians, athletic trainers, or yoga teachers:

  1. Pay $30 when you register for your program, or at the Front Desk during your stay at Kripalu Center.
  2. Fill out a general evaluation form before you leave. Social workers will need to fill out a second, program-specific evaluation form. Both of these forms can be found at the Front Desk.

Follow these three easy steps if you are looking for credits for nurses or psychologists:

  1. Pay $30 when you register for your program, or at the Front Desk during your stay at Kripalu Center.
  2. Fill out a general evaluation form, as well as a program-specific evaluation before you leave. Both of these forms can be found at the Front Desk.
  3. Sign in at the end of the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I ensure that I will be able to receive the CECs I need before I make my reservation?
Our catalog is published well before some of our programs have been approved. You can find the latest and most up-to-date information on our website. When you find the CECs you need, you can pay for them when you make your registration. If there is a problem, or if there is a program that you believe should receive certain types of CECs, you may call 413.448.3127, or e-mail cec@kripalu.org. We will honor as many of these suggestions as we can.

How do I know if my board will accept the CECs from Kripalu?
It is always best to check with your licensing board. The boards that Kripalu is approved through are listed on our website.

How long will it take for me to receive my certificate?
Certificates are processed every two weeks. You should receive your certificate within four weeks of your program’s end date. Please note that doctor and nursing certificates may take up to six weeks as they are not processed in-house.

I just need a document that says that I attended the program, but I am not associated with any licensing board—what should I do?
A Letter of Attendance (LOA) will meet your needs. A LOA will display your name, program title, presenter, dates, and the number of program hours. LOAs cost $10 and require the completion of a general evaluation form at the Front Desk. The difference between a Letter of Attendance and a CEC Certificate is that a Letter of Attendance does not come with the association with a professional licensing board.

I left Kripalu without completing one of the steps required to receive my certificate. What should I do?
If you forgot to pay the fee before leaving, you may call the CE Coordinator at 413.448.3127 and pay over the phone. If you prefer to pay by check, mail the check to:

Kripalu Center
Continuing Education
PO Box 309
Stockbridge, MA 01262

If you forgot to fill out an evaluation form while you were here, you can do that online here.

If you forgot to fill out a program-specific evaluation for nurses, psychologists, social workers, or doctors, please e-mail cec@kripalu.org.

Please note that Kripalu is unable to grant CE credits to nurses, psychologists, social workers, or doctors who did not sign in to each session.

I completed each step that is required to receive my certificate. It has been more than six weeks since my program ended, and I still have not received it. What should I do?
It is possible that your address is in our system incorrectly, or that your certificate got lost in transit. You can call the CE Coordinator at 413.448.3127, or e-mail cec@kripalu.org. We are happy to send an additional certificate at no additional cost. If your need for the certificate is immediate, we can e-mail a PDF.

I took a program several years ago and now I need the CECs. Can I still get them?
We are unable to issue certificates after your program ends for nursing, psychology, or doctors. It is best to request certificates while you are here or as soon after your program ends as possible. If we are able to verify your attendance and the credits you are requesting in our records, we can grant your CECs after a program has ended. Contact the Continuing Education Coordinator to arrange the payment and evaluation process at 413.448.3127, or cec@kripalu.org.

I am unable to attend the entire program, will I be able to earn CECs? This depends on the licensing board and the program. In general, participants should plan to be present for an entire program that they are earning CECs for. If you have an unusual circumstance, please contact the CE Coordinator at 413.448.3127, or cec@kripalu.org.

Once I sign up, am I guaranteed my CECs? Only on very rare occasions are we unable grant certificates. Credit hours may need to be adjusted as the result of circumstances beyond our control (i.e., weather issues, airplane delays). In general, we do not anticipate problems and do our best, along with the presenter(s) and overseeing boards, to accommodate participants.
