Foundations of Ayurveda

General education; open to anyone interested in Ayurveda.

2012–2013 Training Dates

The Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant certification consists of Foundations of Ayurveda and four additional Lifestyle Consultant Modules. Modules must be taken sequentially and in the spring semester.

The Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certification consists of Foundations of Ayurveda and one 7-day intensive, Advanced Studies in Yoga and Ayurveda. If you have already completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, taking the Ayurveda Home Study Course for Yoga Teachers will allow acceptance into the Advanced Studies in Yoga and Ayurveda prior to the completion of our Foundations courses. Once you have passed Foundations I and II, you will receive your certificate as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist.

The Kripalu School of Ayurveda meets the curriculum requirements of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). The Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant training meets NAMA requirements for the 500 hour Practitioner Level membership. The Foundations of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist training meets NAMA requirements for general membership. Students interested in becoming a member of NAMA must apply directly through the organization. Membership information can be found on the NAMA website at www.ayurveda-nama.org.
