Program Overview
This training focuses on the basic principles of Ayurveda as they relate to yoga. Learn to integrate Ayurveda into a yoga class, and give students a deeper understanding of their body type as well as how the basic concepts of Ayurveda relate to everyday life. As a graduate you will also be prepared to offer private sessions to help people develop a personal yoga practice suited to their unique circumstances.
This certification is available only to certified (200-hour minimum) yoga teachers. Comprised of Foundations of Ayurveda plus Advanced Studies in Yoga and Ayurveda (a 7-day intensive taught by Scott Blossom), the curriculum builds on existing knowledge of posture, pranayama, and other yogic techniques. For the Yoga Specialist training, Foundations of Ayurveda and a 200-hour yoga teacher training must be completed prior to taking the Advanced Studies in Yoga and Ayurveda. If you have already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, taking the Ayurveda Home Study Course for Yoga Teachers will allow acceptance into the Advanced Studies in Yoga and Ayurveda prior to the completion of our Foundations courses. Once you have passed Foundations I and II, you will receive your Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certificate.
