For everyone; no prerequisites or storytelling experience needed.
Storytelling for personal and professional development can help improve your communication and writing skills. In this interactive, performance-based program, best-selling author, 39-time Moth StorySLAM winner, and six-time GrandSLAM champion Matthew Dicks focuses on performance techniques, improvisational games, and the explicit modeling of the crafting of a new story.
You are encouraged to tell stories of your own in a low-stakes, highly supportive environment—though you need not come with a story already prepared. Much of Matthew’s instruction is driven through the stories told by participants, so there is ample opportunity for actual storytelling and practice.
Come learn, share, and return home with new stories to tell and the skills to begin crafting and telling many more stories in the future.
