Attachment-Based EMDR Therapy An Integrated Approach of Mind, Body, and Spirit

For EMDR-trained clinicians.

Deepen your skills in working with developmental trauma by integrating principles of Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) with attachment theory, mindfulness practices, and body-based interventions. Learn how to use your own felt sense to navigate the moment-to-moment unfolding of experience, in a program that teaches you:

  • Effectively prioritize memory processing based on unmet attachment needs
  • Help clients develop the capacity for secure attachment by skillfully navigating the relational needs of self and other
  • Identify psychological defenses that arise from early attachment wounding
  • Use somatic resonance to track the client’s experience
  • Incorporate mindfulness practices and techniques in and out of sessions
  • Facilitate processing of experience through body-based, attachment-informed interventions.

Special emphasis is given to helping clients cultivate self-compassion, restore resiliency, and live life to its fullest.

Note Participants are expected to work on their own personal attachment experiences as part of the experiential component of this program.

Attendees must have completed an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training weekends 1 and 2 and have a valid professional license as well as some experience in working with developmental trauma.

Counseling: EMDR of Greater Washington has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6775. Programs that do not quality for NBCC credit are clearly identified. EMDR of Greater Washington is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. 24 NBCC credit hours.
