Awakening the Ordinary Miracle of Healing

For everyone, including professionals.

While trauma is a fact of life, it does not have to be a life sentence. In this program, explore the possibility that traumas and obstacles also hold the potential for emotional and spiritual transformation. For this to happen, it may mean having the courage to give up the “victim identification” and trusting in the emergence of a deeper, more authentic sense of self.

In a supportive setting, Peter A. Levine invites you to explore body-centered awareness exercises in small groups and in one-on-one sessions, and learn how

  • To differentiate between top-down and bottom-up processing
  • The implications of a trauma response are a set of defensive bodily reactions
  • Trauma-based perceptions remain fundamentally unchanged until the internal experience of the body shifts
  • The shame, defeat, and humiliation, associated with the original traumatic event replays itself repeatedly in the body
  • Destructive emotions and behaviors are often caused by triggering and reactivating trauma.

Return home feeling grounded and centered, equipped with various soothing techniques to aid with self-regulation.
