Deep Kula An Immersion for Dedicated Yoga Students and Teachers

For everyone; 1 year of regular yoga practice required. This program may be taken as a weekend only, as weeklong immersion, or as a teacher training; see details below.

Kula-style yoga artfully weaves together asana, alignment, breath, and bandha awareness. Offered as either a weekend or weeklong session, this immersion serves anyone who wants to take a deep dive into the Kula Flow practice, as well as yoga teachers (and teachers in training) from all traditions looking to hone their teaching skills.

Mornings include a well-rounded practice with a focus on a particular pose or class of posture. Expect to gain mastery—or at least a deepened understanding—of some advanced postures. In the afternoon, we warm up with a short flow class and then take a deep dive into the subtleties of longer held postures, pranayama, bandha, and meditation.

In the mid-afternoons, yoga teachers attend additional sessions: two-hour teaching-skills workshops that explore sequencing methodology, hands-on assists, practical alignment and anatomy, and techniques for introducing more nuanced practices into vinyasa teaching. Open to yoga teachers from all traditions, these workshops are not solely Kula-style teaching, but approach teaching through the Kula lens: sweaty, intelligent, and ecstatic.

Whether you come to practice and play, or to practice and study, this special Kula immersion is not to be missed.
