Drawing Closer to Nature Experiential and Training Workshop

For everyone familiar with Peter London’s work and who preferably have taken a course or workshop with him.

Peter London’s original Drawing Closer to Nature program has attracted hundreds of participants, offering people a way to deepen their experience with nature and express that more fully in art and life. This immersion expands on that program, adding a training component that explores Peter’s underlying teaching methods.

Deepen your artistic expressiveness as you learn how to apply Peter’s holistic principles to your own settings and clientele as you

  • Conceive and nurture the creative process
  • Develop a mutually supportive community for your participants
  • Design art “encounters” and shape prompts
  • Lead discussions about the group's artwork.

In the morning sessions, Peter offers exemplary art experiences. Afternoons are spent working in teams of two or three to design and present your own encounter.

Recommended reading Peter London, No More Secondhand Art and Drawing Closer to Nature. Prior to the program, you will receive by email “Towards a Holistic Paradigm of Art Education,” an article by Peter from a publication of the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Note Space is limited to 15 participants, with preference given to those who come as a team of two in order to create dedicated continuing support after the program. A certificate of completion is provided at the end of the training. This program ends after regular checkout time on Wednesday afternoon, at 4:30 pm. You may choose to stay at Kripalu for dinner that day by purchasing a meal pass for the Wednesday-evening meal.
