Embodied Writing: Enchanting the Home of the Soul

When our suffering causes disorienting and decentering heaviness in our lives, we can learn to heal ourselves through expressive creativity. Join acclaimed author Junauda Petrus and artist and lead Kripalu faculty member Monique Schubert as they guide you to nourish your body, soul, and imagination.

Through an alchemy of creative writing, yoga, meditation, and more, you will

  • Be inspired by the works of ancestral Black feminist writers like Audre Lorde and Octavia Butler
  • Delve into depths of your soul in ways that are sacred, speculative, and boundless
  • Explore the pathway to your joy and personal truths.

Return home with new awareness of your limitless imagination and wildest dreams.

Note Participants will be invited to bring an item for our creativity and healing altar. Previous writing experience is recommended but not required.
