Fine Tuning Your Yoga for Osteoporosis Practice

Improve your posture, balance, and coordination while strengthening your bones and reducing your risk of falling. This program with certified yoga therapist Terry Roth Schaff teaches a group of adaptive, bone-building yoga poses that you can safely practice at home. Terry modifies classic yoga poses to make them safe and accessible for everyone. In addition to strengthening bones, these postures build muscle, enhance posture, and increase your ability to move without pain.

Working specifically with the bones in the hips, spine, wrists, arms, and ankles, Terry urges you to work hard, and even get a little tired—the good kind of tired that results in a sense of accomplishment. Her goal is to send you home with a nuanced and personal Yoga for Osteoporosis practice that best suits your needs.

Terry has been working as a yoga therapist with people who have osteoporosis for nearly a decade. A patient, kind, and caring teacher, she assisted Loren Fishman, MD, with his pioneering work on yoga for osteoporosis until she founded her own practice, Schaff Yoga Therapy, in 2016. She invites everyone to take part: people suffering from bone loss, yoga students and teachers, yoga therapists, and medical professionals.
