The Katonah Yoga Method Asana as Metaphor

For all levels.

Katonah Yoga, developed by Nevine Michaan and her teachers over the last 40 years, synthesizes traditional hatha yoga and classical Taoist theory with mathematics, mythology, and metaphor. How you move through a forward bend reflects how you move forward in daily life. The goals of this practice are a healthy body and expanded consciousness, using poses to better understand the self and to explore and free up your body, mind, and life.

In this program, Abbie Galvin and Harriet Schreger, along with special guest Nevine, offer a multifaceted understanding of the unique synthesis of Katonah Yoga’s principal theories. Classes feature asana, pranayama, and adjustments in a noncompetitive and welcoming environment. Learn the language of Katonah Yoga through a joyful immersion in community, study, and practice.
