LoveYourBrain Yoga Teacher Training Yoga and Meditation for Brain Injury and Concussion

For 200-hour yoga teachers and others with approval by LoveYourBrain Foundation.

The LoveYourBrain Foundation offers an international yoga program for the traumatic brain injury (including concussion) community. We believe in the holistic and dynamic nature of yoga to meet the unique needs of each person with brain injury, enhancing self-awareness, managing stress, rebuilding physical strength and balance, and connecting to a community of people with shared experiences.

This 18-hour training is designed for yoga teachers interested in becoming certified to teach the LoveYourBrain Yoga program through our partnership model, as well as yoga teachers, yogis, clinicians, and people with brain injury who want to gain knowledge and skills in how to adapt yoga, meditation, and pranayama for the TBI community.

Over the course of this hands-on, experiential training, you learn

  • Gentle yoga modifications, effective sequencing, and fundamental teaching tips to meet the specific needs of this population
  • Meditation practices and pranayama techniques to promote nervous system regulation, positive mood, and attention control
  • Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, the impact of TBI on the individual and family, and how neuroplasticity influences healing
  • The LoveYourBrain 6-week program, which incorporates TBI-focused yoga, meditation, and pranayama best practices, class themes to foster resilience and compassion, and facilitated discussion
  • Conversation facilitation skills to support meaningful group discussion, a unique feature of our program.

In addition to practicing and teaching parts of the LoveYourBrain Yoga program yourself, you are encouraged to develop connections to the broader LoveYourBrain movement to shift the culture around TBI recovery and brain health. Although this training does have a specific focus on TBI, it is broadly applicable to other subpopulations that have challenges with balance, attention, and self-awareness.

Note The presenters request that this program application be completed upon registration. Tuition includes the LoveYourBrain Yoga Teacher Training Manual (200+ pages). The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI). LoveYourBrain was established by brothers, Kevin and Adam Pearce in 2014, four years after Kevin suffered a near fatal TBI from a snowboarding accident while training for the Olympics. Yoga and meditation have been critical for Kevin’s healing process. This catalyzed LoveYourBrain to launch an international yoga program to support the TBI community to participate in affordable yoga and meditation classes tailored to their needs.
