Mindfulness, Ayurveda, and the Great Outdoors

For everyone.

Experiencing mindful time outdoors, attuning with nature’s cycles, is a powerful way to reduce stress, improve well-being, and find more joy in life—especially since the average American spends 11 hours per day on a screen, and more than 90 percent of their lives indoors. The ancient science of Ayurveda can help us align with the rhythms of nature.

Learn pragmatic ways to apply Ayurveda into your life as you immerse yourself in the stunning forests and hills of Kripalu’s campus. Guided by Micah Mortali, Founder of the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, and Erin Casperson, Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, you explore

  • Mindful hiking and forest therapy
  • Fire-making and meditation
  • Nature meditation and observation
  • Ayurvedic theory and self-care practices
  • Foraging and tea ceremonies
  • Ayurvedic sense care and seasonal eating practices
  • The nine steps of a Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Experience.

Note Please be prepared to spend time outdoors and bring appropriate clothing (walking shoes, rain gear, etc.).
