One Breath at a Time Buddhism and the Twelve Steps

For everyone.

Open and deepen your recovery as you work the Twelve Steps with Buddhist teachings and practices, meditation, lecture, discussion, and written exercises. In this program that explores Twelve Step themes including powerlessness, higher power, inventory, amends, and spiritual awakening, you learn mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation practices to support your recovery.

Buddhist topics covered include the four noble truths, eightfold path, five hindrances, five precepts, three refuges, and the four foundations of mindfulness. Emphasizing the Buddha’s teaching on craving and letting go, this retreat also focuses on self-compassion and loving-kindness. Each session includes periods of meditation and time for questions.

Take this unique opportunity to write and share on recovery topics as well as develop community in an intimate setting.

Note This program uses Kevin Griffin’s Buddhism & The Twelve Steps Workbook as a framework for working the Steps.
