Painting Flowers in Watercolor

For all levels.

Drawing and painting flowers with watercolor is a way we can feel and know the soul in a sacred world. In this program, we experience increased perception and facility in drawing flowers through a unique combination of gesture, blind contour, and modified contour drawing. We then transfer the drawings to watercolor paper, which offers freedom from the anxiety so often felt when painting a drawing that has been done directly on the paper.

Learn how to stay more present with the process of painting rather than focusing too soon on the finished product. Ann K. Lindsay also helps you explore mixing clear colors, greens, painting various backgrounds, negative painting, and the artful practice of keeping a sketchbook.

This program is for students at all levels who love and enjoy flowers and want to express that joy in watercolor in a safe, supportive, and lighthearted atmosphere. Absolute beginners are encouraged to first take Watercolor: A New Beginning offered the previous weekend.
