This weekend is a true introduction to Ashtanga, created by David Swenson specifically for those looking for a compassionate yet fun-filled way to begin the journey or revisit the foundations.

David presents the building blocks of Ashtanga through the five elements of practice: breath, bandhas, drishti, asana, and vinyasa. He breaks down the Sun Salutations into phases and reassembles them step-by-step, connecting breath with movement to compassionately build the rhythmic dance of the Ashtanga flow. This concept is also applied to the asanas and vinyasas, with David offering alternatives and a slower pace than usual.
