Therapeutic Chair Yoga

For people with mobility issues. Scholarship eligible.

Experience Therapeutic Chair Yoga (TCY), an alternative yoga practice for everyone who wants an active yoga practice but has difficulty getting up and down from the floor. Using chairs as props for seated and standing yoga postures, TCY can release pinched nerves, relieve back pain, and build bone density.

TCY is a fun, challenging, and safe practice built on a tradition of alignment-based yoga. It adapts classic poses to meet the needs of people living with osteoarthritis, joint replacements, spinal stenosis, herniated disks, degenerative disk disease, SI joint derangement, piriformis syndrome, and sciatica. Popular with people of all ages, TCY is an effective way to address arthritis; improve posture, coordination, and balance;  reduce anxiety and tension; and make you stronger and more flexible.
