Wilderness First Aid Certification The Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership

For everyone, no medical or professional training needed.

When guiding others outdoors, it is essential to have the right training so that you can respond skillfully to any situation. This program provides professional wilderness first aid (WFA) training designed for mindful outdoor or forest therapy guides, outdoor educators, naturalists, and anyone else interested in the field of outdoor education.

This training certifies you to administer CPR and wilderness first aid and offer additional comfort and care until advanced medical assistance can be accessed.

Christopher Byrne teaches you how to respond to injury, trauma, and environmental emergencies through

  • The fundamentals of wilderness first aid
  • Patient assessment/scene safety
  • Medical and trauma treatment, including wound care, bleeding control, and attending to head injuries
  • First aid transport practices such as splinting and securement
  • The fundamentals of preparedness and self-reliance as a WFA provider.

Note This program is presented with SJG Training, an approved ECSI (Emergency Care and Safety Institute) training institution.

Note Tuition includes a WFA certification upon completion of this program.
