Women’s Qigong for Insomnia and Stress

Do you suffer from difficulty falling asleep, restless slumber, early morning waking, or dream-disturbed sleep? Slow and gentle qigong movements can calm the mind, settle the emotions, and help you ground your energies for restful sleep and stress reduction.

The Chinese say that the mind needs to be “rooted” in a healthy heart or else it floats at night and has no place to rest. If there’s a deficiency of blood or yin or excess emotions affecting the heart, then the shen (spirit) is restless. Imbalances of any organ as well as unstable emotions can disturb the mind, causing insomnia and stress.

In addition to qigong, Deborah Davis explores Chinese and western herbal remedies, acupressure massage, hand mudras, toning, and other beneficial techniques for women of all ages.
