Writing to Awaken Explore Longing and Belonging

For everyone.

Every life is a mixture of shadow and light, loneliness and belonging, disconnection and communion. To belong is to feel at home in the world, grounded, at ease in our own skin, while loneliness may bring feelings of loss and discomfort. Yet both loneliness and belonging can be wonderful teachers, elevating wisdom and compassion even as they bring unique challenges. How can we maintain a sense of well-being while experiencing loneliness, exile, or feelings of abandonment, even when we’re in an intimate relationship?

Dive into a writing program that explores what is gained and lost in the ebb and flow of these twin experiences, and the lessons you can learn from each. Using personal writing, group work, and instructor input, you gain tools to help you flow between feelings of loneliness and belonging with more clarity, calm, curiosity, and humor. Discover how the act of writing itself can ameliorate suffering and enable you to remember, in the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald, that “your longings are universal longings,” and integral to personal awakening.
