Yoga 4 Cancer Teacher Training

For 200-hour yoga teachers, health-care professionals, and others with relevant background and training.

Become a yoga teacher equipped to understand the specific needs and challenges of cancer patients and survivors. Tari Prinster’s y4c method is a unique evidence-based approach to teaching yoga that addresses specific physical conditions, invites curiosity, and gives emotional support to those touched by cancer. Through lectures, demonstrations, discussions, reading and writing assignments, practice-teaching sessions, and individualized feedback, you learn

  • The science behind yoga
  • Fundamentals of cancer treatments and side effects
  • How and why yoga strengthens the immune system
  • Appropriate and inappropriate poses for cancer survivors
  • How and why yoga could reduce the risk of cancer for everyone
  • Tips on starting a cancer survivor program.

Tari has offered this training for more than 15 years and has trained more than 2,000 yoga teachers and health care practitioners. Complete this program with confidence and inspiration to teach those touched by cancer and leave prepared to offer informed, safe, and supportive yoga classes in private or group settings.

Note In addition to the 37 contact hours completed during this program, 8 non-contact hours of reading and writing assignments are also required to meet the 45 hours needed for CE credits through Yoga Alliance. This includes pre- and post-training assignments that will be emailed to you before and after the program, respectively.

This program may be taken as part of Kripalu’s 1000-Hour Yoga Teacher Training or as a standalone program.

“This program has informed how I select, sequence, and teach my cancer and non-cancer classes. As a survivor, it has opened my eyes and heart about my personal practice and lifestyle. Thank you, Tari.”
—Donna W., program participant

“I absolutely loved this training and recommend it to all teachers interested in teaching to cancer survivors. Tari is funny, compassionate, and real.”
