Yoga on the Water A Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding Retreat

For everyone; some experience with water sports and activities suggested.

Enjoy the last days of your summer season on the warm, calm waters of Lake Mahkeenac. This fun and fulfilling retreat combines two of Kripalu’s most popular outdoor activities with the practices of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.

In this program, you experience

  • Kayaking and stand up paddleboarding classes and touring sessions
  • Floating yoga and meditation practices
  • Strength, balance, and confidence building to enhance your practice anywhere
  • Mindful connection and exploration of the outdoors and the rhythms of nature, both on and off the water.

You should be comfortable entering and exiting a kayak, and capable of piloting a personal craft. This program may also include short hikes on hilly trails.

Note All equipment, including kayaks, paddleboards, paddles, and safety gear, is provided.

Mark Roule, RYT 500, is a Kripalu Yoga teacher and outdoor guide who leads R&R and programs at Kripalu. He holds wilderness EMT/lifeguard, instructor-level kayak, stand up paddleboard, and snowboard certifications.
