Increase Meaningful Connection

About one-third of people in advanced industrial societies report feeling deeply disconnected—either because they live, eat, and sleep alone day after day, or because their relationships feel empty and unfulfilling. The evidence is clear: chronic loneliness—whether objective or subjective—can seriously impact both physical and emotional health and shortens lifespans.

Just as we monitor our diet and exercise in today’s sedentary world, it’s just as essential to pay attention to our social connectivity: we no longer enjoy the automatic connectivity of life in a community setting. This workshop offers both insight and practical tools to help you do just this.

Designed for those curious about the epidemic of loneliness—as well as those who personally struggle with persistent disconnection—this program explores the neurology and social psychology of loneliness and provides you with tools you can use to monitor your connectivity, and strategies about how to build a more connected, more fulfilling life.

Through engaging discussions, written narrative disclosure techniques, reflective exercises, and embodied practices, you will:

  • Explore the neurological and social causes of loneliness.
  • Assess the quality of your relationships using guided questionnaires.
  • Read and reflect on real-life case stories.
  • Identify and practice producing a narrative of one’s personal patterns of connection and disconnection.
  • Learn and practice yoga and meditation techniques to reduce stress and foster the calm, present centeredness that can contribute to enhanced connectiveness.

You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how loneliness takes hold, practical steps to employ to increase meaningful connection, and embodied tools to support emotional resilience and relational growth.

Join us for a compassionate, research-informed experience that blends science, self-reflection, and mindfulness to support deeper connections in your life.
