Yoga with Proprioceptive Techniques for Awareness, Toning, Stretching, and Releasing

Develop Body Awareness and Mobility
Yoga Therapy takes the ideas, tools, frameworks, and approaches from yoga history and matches them up against modern exercise, physiology, science, and psychology to help people. Yoga Therapeutics can help those with chronic and acute challenges and for wellness.
Led by Kripalu faculty and IAYT certified yoga therapists Bill Koff and Nya Patrinos, this workshop adapts modern tools and techniques to gently stretch within the context of yoga asana and warm-ups.
In this retreat, you will:
- Stretch and be stretched: Learn to deeply and safely stretch yourself and others (available for everyone, but can also count towards continuing education credits [24 CE hours for IAYT ADP and YA]).
- Develop proprioceptive skills: Explore yoga poses, self assists, and gentle touch points.
- Join in community: Enjoy connection with others interested in proprioceptive techniques and wellness.
Proprioceptive techniques allows people to develop body awareness, fluidity, mobility, and range of motion with a gentle, safe approach. This workshop gives a new set of tools that are already established in the exercise, sports, and dance worlds .
You will develop a set of skills to use proprioceptive techniques with yoga, integrate the Gentle Stretching Process with Proprioceptive Techniques in yoga poses, guide self assists, use appropriate positioning, gentle touch points, and avoid contraindications. You will be able to work on yourself or with others to both guide and assist you to stretch and release.
This wellness workshop is open to all levels and backgrounds.
