
Fimo Mitchell
Fimo Mitchell is a meditation teacher, podcast host, and writer. He began meditating in 2009 during his first trip to India. Since then, he has spent thousands of hours in meditation and completed two mindfulness courses. Fimo lived and worked in China for 16 years as an English teacher, where he established mindfulness programs at two different schools. In 2021, he founded When The Village Meditates, a nonprofit committed to creating meditation, yoga, and discussion spaces, along with wellness retreats that center racialized and marginalized people. Since returning to Montreal, he has conducted mindfulness workshops at high schools and universities in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto. Every Tuesday, he hosts the When The Village Meditates podcast, featuring ten minutes of meditation and five minutes of insightful speech. Fimo is the author of three books and last year his first short film, La Viande, was released.
