Ellen Schaeffer, C-IAYT, RYT 500 is a longtime faculty member and mentor in the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy. She was the founder and owner of One Yoga Center in Foster, Rhode Island for 25 years. Ellen has been teaching yoga since 1996 and has enjoyed running and serving as faculty, in many Yoga teacher training programs.  In addition to her yoga education, Ellen has an educational and professional foundation in psychology and human development. She is passionate about fusing the teachings of Eastern and Western psychology into her yoga therapy practice and is especially called to work with individuals wanting support with the mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges of daily living. She worked many years on a psychiatric inpatient unit and is currently teaching in a pain management study with individuals recovering from opioid addiction.
