Awakening Joy
A journey into presence through Anusara yoga
Explore the Natural Rhythm of Contraction and Expansion
Join us for an Anusara intensive that explores the natural rhythm of contraction and expansion, concealment, and grace. When we recognize that worthiness is not found only in life’s bright, expansive moments, we can also embrace the contracted times as opportunities for grounding and growth.
Contraction is part of the pulsation that is not so pleasant but a part of the healing journey towards the authentic self. Together we’ll navigate both challenge and grace, returning home with tools to sustain peace and joy long after the retreat ends.
Rooted in the principles of Anusara yoga, the arc of these practices invites presence in each breath, each class, and across the decades of our lives.
These practices will include:
- The physical practice of asana
- The subtle practices of meditation and pranayama
- Chanting, journaling, and discussion
- Sharing the collective joy of the community of the heart
This workshop will be led by experienced certified Anusara teachers Jacalyn Prete, Julia Pearring, and Rachel Dewan. These master teachers specialize in the therapeutic applications of yoga, making use of the wide array of signature Anusara yoga techniques, which help to release long-held tension and patterns of misalignment. With decades of combined experience teaching intergenerational communities, teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats, locally and internationally, they look forward to welcoming students of all levels to our retreat.
