Catherine Cook-Cottone

Catherine Cook-Cottone is a licensed psychologist, yoga teacher, and associate professor at SUNY Buffalo. Her research specializes in embodied self-regulation, including yoga, mindfulness, and self-care, as well as eating disorders. She has written four books, including Mindfulness and Yoga for Self-Regulation: A Primer for Mental Health Professionals, and more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. As a national and international presenter, Catherine uses her model of embodied self-regulation to structure discussions on empirical work and practical applications. She teaches classes on mindful therapy, yoga for health and healing, self-care, the history of psychology, and counseling children and adolescents. Catherine maintains a private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety-based and eating disorders and the development of emotional regulation skills.
