Fire Ceremonies

Beltane Fire Ceremony
Join us in community to mark Beltane/May Day! We will honor the directions/elements, the spirit/s of the land, make offerings to the fire, and call in the new season. Beltane is the beginning of Summer in the Celtic Wheel of the Year and sits between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. It is a time where our seeds and intentions begin to sprout and bloom, so it's a time for the celebration of joy and life itself! During this fire ceremony we will celebrate the beginning of the warm season, discuss the qualities of this time of year, and work with the fire to share intentions and gratitudes for the season ahead. If you feel inspired, please bring a song or poem.

Imbolic Fire Ceremony
In the Celtic Wheel of the Year, Imbolc, is a Gaelic festival at the beginning of February marking the end of the winter season and beginning of spring. The word Imbolc derives from the Irish, ‘i mbolg’, meaning ‘in the belly’, or ""first milk"" in the old Irish Neolithic language. It heralds the birthing season, as the soon-to-be-born lambs are growing in their mother’s bellies. Another powerful metaphor to describe this time is ‘winter pregnant with summer’. The seeds of summer are still hidden deep in the earth, and while the worst of the winter darkness is over, Spring has not fully arrived yet. During this fire ceremony we will honor the seeds alive in us waiting to come forth, discuss the origins of this festival, and qualities of this time of year, and work with the fire to share intentions and gratitudes for the season ahead.

Lughnasadh Fire Ceremony
One of the eight festivals on the Wheel of the Year, Lughnasadh is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Join Kripalu Staff as we mark the turning of the wheel with a Fire Ceremony with intention, celebration, and community.

Samhain Fire Ceremony
In the Celtic Wheel of the Year, Samhain ( SOW-in), is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. During this fire ceremony we will honor the coming inward focus of the winter months, share some of the origins of this festival, and work with the fire to share intentions and gratitudes for the season ahead.

Spring Equinox Fire Ceremony
The Spring Equinox also known as Ostara, is a time of renewal and rebirth in Celtic Wheel of the Year. As the dark and cold winter months give way to the bright and warm spring season, the natural world awakens from its slumber, and a new life begins to emerge. In Celtic mythology, the spring equinox was the day that night and day stood equal and the rare balance was seen as a powerful time for magic and nature. During this fire ceremony we will honor the balance of light and dark, discuss the qualities of this time of year, and work with the fire to share intentions and gratitudes for the season ahead.

Summer Solstice Fire Ceremony
Join us in Community to mark the Summer Solstice! Honor the directions/elements, the spirit/s of the land, make offerings to the fire, and call in the new season. The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, a time when energy is high and active. The beginning of the harvest cycles, we begin to reap the fruits of our intentions. During this fire ceremony we will celebrate the height of summer, discuss the qualities of this time of year, and work with the fire to share intentions and gratitudes for the season ahead. If you feel inspired, please bring a song or poem.
