Peaceful Accommodations at Kripalu

Where simplicity supports transformation.

Your stay at Kripalu is an invitation to unplug—from noise, from screens, from the nonstop rhythm of everyday life. Here, simplicity is sacred. Our accommodations are intentionally minimal to give you space for rest, reflection, and renewal.

Whether you prefer the privacy of a single room or the connection of shared space, our rooms are designed to help you disconnect from distraction and reconnect with what matters. Below is an overview of our key room types with price ranges. Please note that your final rate is determined by the number of guests (individual stay vs. double), location/view, and time of your stay (mid-week vs. weekend).

FAQ Accommodations

Check-in begins at 2:00 pm on the day your stay begins. While your room may not be immediately available during high-volume arrival times, we’ll welcome you with a place to securely store your luggage and begin exploring the campus. Dinner is the first included meal on your arrival day.

Note: All reservations begin at 2:00 pm on arrival day and end at 2:00 pm on departure day. Room check-out is at 10:00 am. Please note that Saturday arrivals and departures are not available for overnight stays.

Room check-out is at 10:00 am, but your retreat doesn’t have to end there. You’re invited to stay on campus, enjoy your included lunch, take part in classes, and soak in the grounds until 2:00 pm.

Yes. Many areas of the Kripalu campus are wheelchair-accessible, and guest room accommodations are available upon request. Please contact registration@kripalu.org before your stay so we can assist with any mobility, medical, or support needs to ensure your comfort.

To maintain a peaceful, uninterrupted experience, there is no in-room housekeeping during your stay. Housekeeping management schedules room refreshes for extended stays of one week or more. Each room is carefully cleaned and prepared before your arrival.

Our guest rooms do not have air conditioning by design. Kripalu invites you to slow down, breathe with the seasons, and reconnect with your natural rhythms. The Annex tends to stay cooler in the warmer months, though it also does not have in-room temperature control.

Each room includes:

  • Soap, shampoo, conditioner
  • Towels and blankets
  • Hangers
  • Safe(s)

We encourage you to travel light—Kripalu’s simplicity is intentional.

The dorms allow for 5–22 people per room and offer simple bunk beds and access to shared hallway bathrooms. Each dorm bed comes with your own alarm clock, reading light, and a safe to store valuables. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee lower bunks. If you cannot use an upper bunk, please choose another type of housing.

NOTE Regardless of vaccination status, students staying in dormitories must show proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours upon arrival.

We offer a commuter pass for those interested.

Unfortunately, we do not allow camping on the Kripalu Campus.

We have created Gender Expansive dorms with the explicit goal of providing a housing experience with a sense of belonging and community for trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer/gender non-conforming guests, as well as LGBTQIA+ guests and allies of those communities. Guests who select Gender Expansive dorms agree to live with and create a welcoming environment for students of any gender identity.

Who can book into Gender Expansive Housing?

Anyone who identifies as trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer/gender non-conforming guests, as well as LGBTQIA+ guests and allies of those communities. Anyone registering for this housing type must agree to create a welcoming environment for all in the dorm.

What are the bathroom options?

There will be Gender Expansive bathroom and shower facilities located on the same floor/wing from the Gender Expansive dorms. In addition to shower facilities, Kripalu has Gender Expansive bathroom options on each floor of its main building (Shadowbrook) and on the first floor of the Annex.

Gender Expansive bathrooms are designated on our Building Map.

Quiet Hours are observed from 10:00 pm to 5:30 am to support  rest—for yourself and for others. Mornings begin with a silent breakfast to help you ease into the day with intention. Many areas of campus are also tech-free, creating space to be fully present.
