School of Integrative Yoga Therapy
For more than 20 years, the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy has trained yoga therapists in merging ancient yoga practices with evidence-based protocols. As a yoga therapist in this emerging healthcare profession, you will be trained to develop classes and individualized instruction that utilize yoga’s most powerful tools to treat a myriad of issues. Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy provides students with the necessary skills to bring yoga therapy into mainstream healthcare, treatment, and wellness approaches in ways that are safe, accessible, and effective. As proven vehicles for wellness, healing, and transformation, yoga and yoga therapy have been successfully incorporated into settings such as hospitals, schools, universities, assisted living facilities, veteran centers, medical offices, and mental health clinics. Whether in group settings or one-on-one sessions, yoga therapists know how to custom design a suite of effective therapeutic yoga practices to address special populations wrestling with specific conditions.

Kripalu Schools are committed to supporting individuals interested in enhancing their lives and realizing their full potential through yoga, yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and mindful outdoor leadership regardless of background or financial status. Scholarships are offered when funding is available and made possible by the generous support of Kripalu's donors. Once accepted into a training, you can apply for a scholarship. Scholarship applications will not be processed without prior program acceptance. Please note that scholarships are limited and not all trainings have scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded first come, first serve on a rolling basis. Thus, those who apply early have the best chance of securing available financial support. - 18+ years of age
- Display English-language competency
- Have received a high school diploma or GED
- Exhibit the ability to contribute to a safe and cohesive learning environment
- Demonstrate physical, mental, and emotional preparedness to fully participate in all required aspects of the program
- The Kripalu certification programs have an intensive schedule and curriculum that is physically, mentally, and emotionally rigorous. To be admitted, you must demonstrate medical and mental health and readiness to fully participate in the demands of the program. In addition, an applicant must be able to support the group learning process and may be denied if it is determined that their participation would in any way compromise a safe and cohesive learning environment.
- Have a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate from a registered Yoga Alliance school
- Have at least 1 year of teaching experience
