Bio

Joy Lynn Okoye is a trauma-informed movement and meditation teacher, Yoga Nidra guide, vocalist, and sacred storyteller. A 500-hour yoga teacher trained in restorative, Yin, adaptive, and trauma-sensitive yoga, she teaches practices that integrate movement, breath, sound, and guided rest to support nervous system regulation, grief processing, and self-reclamation.

At Kripalu, Joy teaches movement meditation, Yoga Nidra, and reflective practices that help participants reconnect with the body, navigate loss and transition, and remain more present with themselves. Grounded in embodiment, relational literacy, and spiritual inquiry, her work supports people in staying connected to who they are inside love, conflict, change, and uncertainty.

Joy is also a senior teacher and lead trainer with JourneyDance®, where she has taught and mentored for more than a decade and contributed to the development of the online teacher training. She is the founder of the SoulEase™ approach, a body-based method that supports healing through relational stress, grief, and profound life change.
