Liana Sterling holds an MBA and an MS from Cornell University, an MPA and an MPH from Columbia University, and a BA from Bryn Mawr College. She has worked across government, nonprofit, and private sectors. During her years at the NYC Mayor's Office of Management and Budget, she oversaw initiatives in public health, social, and labor policy. Now a principal at Orleans Realty, she brings cross-sector experience to commercial and residential real estate projects.  
Liana also serves on the Weill Cornell Women's Health Council, the Advocacy Council of the Citizens' Committee for Children, and is active in her alma mater. She brings specialized training in DEI, design thinking, and governance from Harvard and MIT and a passion for creating systems that support healthier, more equitable communities. 

Liana has been coming to Kripalu for over two decades. She has returned many times to take yoga, ayurveda, meditation, and movement programs, and in 2012 got certified to teach Kripalu yoga dance.   She is motivated by Kripalu’s effort to promote its evidence-based approach to organizations to achieve cultures of health and optimize human functioning at a more systemic level.
