Doshin Michael Nelson
Doshin Michael Nelson, Roshi, poet, teacher, and founder of Integral Zen, started studying Zen in the late 1960s but, without the guidance of a good teacher, he was confused and discouraged by the teachings. It wasn’t until he met JunPo Denis Kelly Roshi that the disciplined practice and eloquent simplicity of Zen took root in him and began to penetrate the dense clouds of his conditioned mind, revealing the ordinary openness of vast, empty sky. Doshin received Inka from JunPo Roshi in 2011 and was recognized as a Zen master. He is a lineage holder in Hollow Bones Rinzai Zen.
