Gary Deng

Gary Deng, MD, PhD, is medical director of integrative medicine service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His professional expertise is in the use of an integrative medicine approach to help patients throughout the continuum of cancer prevention, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. Gary is recognized as a leader in this emerging and evolving field, and recently served as president of the Society for Integrative Oncology.  He is principal investigator of National Institutes of Health–funded research projects on acupuncture, yoga, and botanical agents, and has developed education programs for physicians, nurses, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and yoga instructors. Gary received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University, China, and his PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Miami.
