James S. Gordon

James S. Gordon, MD, is founder and director of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM), former chair of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine, and author of Unstuck: Your Guide to the Seven-Stage Journey Out of Depression. He has worked for 40 years to make self-care, including nutrition and mind-body medicine, central to health care. He and his CMBM colleagues have created scientifically validated programs for healing psychological trauma in Kosovo, Israel, Gaza, Haiti, and southern Louisiana, and for US military personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

60 Minutes recently aired a report on recovery from last summer’s war in Gaza that includes The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, providing a worldwide audience a glimpse of CMBM’s groundbreaking trauma work with children.
