Leslie Hubbard

Leslie Hubbard has been a student, teacher, and researcher of various contemplative practices, including Zen meditation, yoga, professional dance, and East Asian philosophy, for more than 20 years. She is program director of the University of Virginia (UVA)’s Contemplative Sciences Center, where she teaches courses on the theory and practice of yoga and Buddhist meditation, and manages curricular and co-curricular contemplative projects across all 11 schools at UVA. She holds a master’s of divinity degree from Harvard University, a bachelor’s degree in dance performance from Rotterdam Dance Academy, and a 200-hour  yoga teacher certification from Kripalu. Leslie spent eight years as a Zen Buddhist nun with Thich Nhat Hanh in Plum Village.
