
Lise Van Susteren
Lise Van Susteren, MD, a practicing general and forensic psychiatrist in Washington, DC, is an expert on the physical and mental health effects of climate change. In 2011 she coauthored “The Psychological Effects of Global Warming on the United States: And Why the U.S. Mental Health Care System Is Not Adequately Prepared.” Lise has served as a clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University and been a consultant to the executive branch of the United States government profiling world leaders. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at the Harvard School of Public Health and is cofounder of the Climate Psychiatry Alliance.
