Liz Slade
Liz Slade is a classroom teacher in the Mamaroneck, New York public schools and an advocate for mindful teaching and social and emotional learning (SEL). She has worked in the field of education for more than 30 years as an educational therapist, a child development consultant, and primarily as a classroom teacher. She has explored the use of mindfulness in her own classroom since 2008, and in 2010 she spearheaded an initiative that offered training provided by the Inner Resilience Program to the teachers and parents of her school. This SEL and mindfulness effort was so well received that Inner Resilience, mindfulness, and other contemplative endeavors (including yoga) have been introduced district wide.
